Education
Highest Degree Earned: M.A.
Discipline: Counseling Psychology
I received my M.A. in Counseling Psychology in 1986 from Lewis & Clark College. I have completed advanced training in Sex Therapy, EMDR, Imago Therapy, couples counseling, brief therapy and family of origin work. My 24 years of practice include independent and group private practice, individual and group therapy at a community mental health center, and providing clinical supervision.
Professional Focus
I provide brief, solution-focused counseling to help adults and older adolescents achieve their goals. I work in a developmental, psychodynamic, or family-of-origin approach when the obstacles to problem resolution need deeper exploration. I specialize in sex therapy, couples and marriage counseling, anxiety and depression, relationship problems, post-traumatic stress, and childhood history of abuse.
I am always searching for the right questions that will help my clients think about themselves and their problems in a new way.
I provide supervision of counselors in training, and have made numerous presentations on Sex Therapy, Adult Sexuality, Sexuality in Midlife, and Intimacy.
