I have a bachelors degree in biology from Tufts University and went to Mexico and pursued a medical education. Later I pursued a masters degree from George Fox University. My main interests have been in trauma and substance abuse and have read many articles and books concerning this as well as codependency.
I am not affiliated with any hospitals or universities but have in the past worked as a social worker in New Jersey at Trinitas Hospital with HIV/AIDS patients. I also did clinical clerkships in medical school in hospitals in Mexico and in Miami. I did several rotations in psychiatry clerkships in Mexico and have six years experience working as a counselor for Cascadia Behavioral healthcare in a residential facility with clients with severe persistent mental illness and dual diagnosis clients. I also have three years experience working with men who struggled with substance abuse at a residential facility which was Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation program.
My specialty is in working in the field of addictions particularly people who grew up with a family member who was dysfunctional in that they abused alcohol or other substances or are living with that type of person and that person's behavior is affecting them and their family. My other specialty is christian counseling if needed. I also have done trainings in trauma and addictions. I can work with those who have had a difficult childhood and are trying to move forward as well as deal with their past that is affecting them in their current situations in their professional or personal lives. Specialty Training: I have several certificates from attending training in trauma and substance abuse. My other diploma is an MD. It is from Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Mexico but I am not a licensed physician in the United States. I do not give medical advice but have medical knowledge concerning illnesses and can understand medical terminology for patients that may have a serious and chronic illness and wish to discuss this with someone who can understand these terms,
Usual and Customary Fee: $60/90 per 60 minute hour.
My initial session is 90 minutes and the charge is $90 . Subsequent sessions for individuals are $60 and my fee for couples therapy is $90 per session.

I will be doing starting in January a monthly adult children of alcoholic psycho-educational support group but must contact me for more information.
