As human beings, most of us are challenged by change. My aim as a therapist is to work collaboratively with clients who are experiencing difficult changes and transitions. I strive to balance the use of listening and support with actively offering ideas and strategies for clients to consider. While acknowledging the influence of the past can be helpful, I believe that counseling must also focus on building strategies for moving forward. In addition to helping clients reach their counseling goals, I offer them personal and interpersonal tools that will continue to be useful to them long after they have left my office.
